Dear members

I hope this message finds you well.

We’re excited to share that our Saturday Competitions and Sunday Mixed formats have been gaining great traction – thank you all for your ongoing support and participation!

Looking ahead, we’d love to build the same momentum around our Fabulous Fridays, which feature the popular Joker Jackpot Draw. In line with this, our Captain has proposed an exciting new initiative: starting next month, we will host Fabulous Friday events every second Friday. These events are inspired by the traditional “Sundowners” – a relaxed, social nine-hole competition teeing off around 14:00 or 15:00. After the game, join us for a casual dinner and the thrilling Joker Jackpot Draw. It promises to be a fun, festive way to start your weekend, and we’d love to see more of you there!

Course & Clubhouse Updates
A heartfelt thank you goes to Konrad for his tireless efforts on the golf course. We’ve received an overwhelming amount of positive feedback regarding the improvements – it’s wonderful to see the course in such great shape.

On the clubhouse side, the updated Food & Beverage offering, particularly the new half-hour menu, has been very well received. A big thank you to Michelle and her team for their dedication and exceptional service. Visitors have been raving about the experience, and our Members are equally pleased.

Lastly, I must say the view from the clubhouse continues to be a standout feature, truly a fabulous part of the Pinnacle Point experience.

Thank you all once again for your support and commitment to our Club.

We look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events.

Warm regards,
Quintin Byleveldt

To our kitchen team and staff: well done! Your seamless adaptation to the new menu and systems has not gone unnoticed. On behalf of all our golfers, thank you for your hard work and commitment. Looking ahead, we’re equally excited about the upcoming Pro Shop upgrade, which promises to further elevate the experience for our members – whether shopping for golf essentials or simply enjoying the space.

Watch this space! We’re privileged to have such a dedicated, progressive team focused on delivering exceptional value to our Members, and I’m honoured to be a part of it.

You’re Never Too Old or Young to Be a Champion

Old & Young Tom Morris leaves a lasting legacy – from Prestwick to Pinnacle Point.

A year after Old Tom Morris became the oldest winner of The Open, his son, Young Tom Morris, made history at Prestwick, Scotland, in 1868 by becoming the youngest-ever Champion. At just 17 years and 156 days old, he was nearly four years younger than any previous winner, a record that still stands today. Raised on the fairways of Prestwick, where his father had been the greenkeeper before returning to St Andrews, Young Tom was already well-acquainted with the game. In his fourth Open appearance, he opened with an impressive 51 on the 12-hole course, the lowest round in Championship history at the time. As the day progressed, it became a generational duel.

While seasoned legends like Old Tom and Willie Park Sr. posted astonishing scores of 50 in the second round, Young Tom temporarily fell behind with a 54. However, champions are forged in critical moments, and in the final round, the young prodigy surged ahead, recording four 3s in five holes starting from the 7th and finishing with a brilliant 49. His total of 154 shattered the previous record and secured a three-stroke victory over his father. This was the first of four consecutive Open titles for Young Tom, serving as a lasting reminder that greatness knows no age.

At Pinnacle Point, where the spirit of golf meets challenge and some of the most breathtaking views in the world, we believe that champions are not defined by age but by passion, courage, and the determination to rise. Whether you’re starting out, pursuing greatness, remember: it’s never too early or too late to become a champion.

If the Eden Bay walkway at Pinnacle Point could speak, it would share stories of early risers chasing the morning light, lovers embracing the sea breeze, & artists captivated by the shifting shades of blue.

It would echo with children’s laughter, moments of quiet reflection, & a sway to the rhythmic sound of waves below. This wooden path is more than just a walkway; it is a journey for those in search of beauty, tranquillity, or simply a breath of fresh ocean air.
