How can golfers assist with course maintenance?

Golfers can assist the maintenance team by being proactive and putting extra effort into course care etiquette. These efforts will go a long way toward maintaining good playing conditions.

  • Repair your pitch marks: A properly repaired pitch mark will heal in a couple of days whereas an unrepaired pitch mark can take weeks or even longer to recover. Fewer imperfections on putting surfaces will lead to smoother and healthier greens.
  • Repair your divots: Replacing a divot immediately while there is still soil attached to it gives the grass the best chance to survive. If you cannot find the divot or the divot is not intact, use your sand bottle to fill the void.
  • Follow the cart rules: Carts can cause significant damage to turf, especially during wet or dry spells. Follow the directional cart signs and avoid dry, stressed or wet areas. Try and stay on level ground as sliding carts will damage the turf and can lead to injury if the cart slides out of control.
  • Rake the bunker after your shot: Try to restore the bunker to an even surface for the next golfer to land in it. Avoid exiting the bunker at the steep face and always move out at the lowest point possible.

When you see an unrepaired pitch mark on the green or an unfilled divot on the fairway, fix it. By fixing things other golfers have ignored, you will feel good about helping to keep our course in pristine condition.

Golfing regards,
Konrad

Dear Ladies,

As another year draws to a close, we reflect on the wonderful times we’ve shared. Sixteen ladies joined us for the final day, and what a fantastic time it was! Pinnacle Golf Course continues to be one of the most stunning venues, and we’re so fortunate to play here.

Our Ladies’ Tuesday competitions will resume on 7th January 2025, and we can’t wait to see you all back on the course.

To those participating in the club competition: play your best, but most importantly, savour every moment of the experience!

Wishing you all a safe and joyous end to the year.

Warm regards,
Christe-Mari
